Things to do with kids: Breakfasts with Santa in New Jersey

Ho, ho, ho! It’s that time of year when Santa Claus starts making his list and checking it twice. Don’t miss the chance for your kids to sit down with the Big Guy and share their Christmas wish lists. These Santa Breakfasts will get everyone in the festive holiday spirit. Enjoy some delicious food, have the kiddies pose for photos with Santa and join in other holiday activities. Read on for our roundup of eleven fabulous breakfasts happening this December.

The Inn of Cape May (Cape May)
December 8 & 15, 10am-12pm
Tell your kids to bring along their Christmas lists—Santa is waiting to take their requests. A breakfast buffet will be served, and special treats for the kids will be available. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children 12 & under. Call 609-884-5404 for more information.

The Atlantic Club (Manasquan)
December 8, 9, 15 & 16, Seatings at 9am & 12pm
Join Santa and Frosty, along with Santa’s Elves & Reindeer, for a breakfast buffet at The Atlantic Club. Santa is available for photos (bring your own camera) and all children will participate in a holiday craft. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children under 13, free for children under 2. Reservations must be made one week prior—please call 732-223-2100.

James J. Cullen Center (Hazlet)
December 8, 9-11:30am
Bring the kids to visit Jolly Old St. Nicholas at this holiday event hosted by the Hazlet Recreation Commission. Enjoy a continental breakfast and join in the festivities. Don’t forget your camera! Admission is free. Call 732-739-0653 for more information.

Sahara Sam’s Water Park (West Berlin)
December 8, 8-10am
Kick off the season with a visit to Sahara Sam’s Water Park to see Santa, play some reindeer games and dig into a hot breakfast buffet. Admission to the park is included. Tickets are $29.95 per person and must be ordered by Friday, December 7 at 12 noon. Children 2 & under are free. Tickets can be purchased online.

The Bernards Inn (Bernardsville)
December 9, 10am-2pm
An elegant breakfast buffet, including made-to-order omelettes, pancakes and salads, is reason enough to visit The Bernards Inn. A traditional Gingerbread House will be on display, as well as holiday treat tables for the children with cookies, cupcakes and more. Photos with Santa are complimentary and the digital files will be emailed directly to each family. $29.95 for adults, $10 for children 5-12, free for children under 5. Tax and gratuity not included. Garden State Discovery Museum (Cherry Hill)
December 15, 10am-1pm
Santa Claus is coming to the Garden State Discovery Museum! Join the Big Guy himself for a buffet breakfast with holiday songs and stories. Tickets are $8 plus tax for members and $15 plus tax for non-members. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Fred & Ethel’s Lantern Light (Smithville)
December 15 & 22, 9am
Located in the center of Historic Smithville, Fred & Ethel’s offers delicious comfort food in a cozy environment. Join them for this special event featuring a buffet breakfast and pictures with Santa. $10.95 per person, free for children 3 & under. Reservations are suggested—please call 609-652-0544.

Imagine That!!! (Florham Park)
December 15 & 22, 9:30am
Kids can visit Santa and his elves, share a breakfast snack, and then stay to play at the museum all day! Please bring along your camera for photos. Admission is $13.99 per child and $10.99 per adult, if purchased in advance. Call 973-966-8000 to RSVP. (If you pay at the door, seats are not guaranteed and pricing is $14.99 per child and $11.99 per adult.)

Branches Catering (West Long Branch)
December 16, 9am-12pm
This beautiful facility hosts a special breakfast with Santa featuring fresh fruit, omelettes, a griddle station, a carving station and hot chocolate for the kiddos. A craft goody bag will be presented to each child and digital photos with Santa will be emailed after the event. $25 for adults, $15 for kids ages 2-12. Tax and gratuity not included. Laurita Winery (New Egypt)
December 23, 9am-12:30pm
There’s something for both big and little kids to love at this event! Enjoy a yummy breakfast with Santa and sample delicious Jersey wines. Be sure to take a scenic wagon ride through the vineyard too. Complimentary digital photos with Santa are included. $25 for adults, $15 for kids ages 2-12. Tax and gratuity not included. Liberty Hall Museum (Union)
December 23, 10am-12pm
Liberty Hall will be festively decorated for the holidays—sit down for breakfast with Santa, then tour the museum after your meal. A hot breakfast buffet and photo in Santa’s sleigh are included. Admission is $25 per adult, $20 per child. Reservations are required—please call 908-527-0400.
