Tara Munn

Tara Munn has a true love of all things New Jersey. Born and raised in this great state, she currently lives in Morris County with her husband and three young kids. Back in her youth she recalls whining to her mother about being bored growing up in northern “middle of nowhere” New Jersey and her mother saying “I’m not your Activity Director. You should go find your own fun!” * Taking this directive to heart, she did just THAT and has expanded the Personal Activity Director role as a parent to her own children, who have only uttered the “I’m bored!” phrase a handful of times.

When she isn’t working part-time in the corporate world, she’s busy driving her kids around to school, sports, and sometimes even activities that are actually fun for the parents, too.  Her true passions involve cooking, writing, hiking, music, art and pop culture all of which she tries to accomplish between, homework and soccer games. She is thrilled to take her somewhat OCD event and kid activity planning to the next level as the New Jersey Mommy Poppins Events Editor.

She welcomes you to share any of your own New Jersey events and activities with her at NJEvents@mommypoppins.com

*This was way back in the 1970’s when parents got to send their kids outside to play all day weren’t as super cool as we are now.

Things to do with kids: 100 Things to Do in New Jersey with Kids Before They Grow Up

Now that my oldest child is ten (gasp!), I understand that annoying phrase I heard often during those difficult baby/toddler times, "The days are long, but the years are short".  Thankfully, filling those short years with quality bonding time will be even easier with our Top 100 not-to-be-missed family activities right here in the Garden State. Yes, we have two fantastic large cities within driving distance, but there's tons of incredible stuff right here in Jersey to make memories that will last forever!

25 Fun Things To Do in Morristown, NJ

Things to do with kids: 25 Fun Things To Do in Morristown, NJ

Just 25 miles west of NYC, Morristown is rich in history, culture, and offers lots of fun for families. Where else can you walk alongside a seeing eye dog in training, shop at one of the best chocolate shops in the area, catch a kid friendly theater performance and visit a few places where George Washington actually DID sleep! I've had a blast exploring Morristown for over a decade with my brood and compiled my top 25 fun, and mostly FREE things to do in this great suburban town.
