Geek Out this Weekend at Kids Comic Con and Big Lightsaber Fight

Being a Star Wars fanatic or a comic book geek is pretty cool in my book. And these cool kid-friendly events celebrate and bring out the geek in all of us. A giant black-lit lightsaber battle? What could be cooler than that? A comic book convention just for kids. Let's go!

Giant Lightsaber Battle

Free and all ages

Join Newmindspace and NYU Program Board in a massive, glowing lightsaber battle! 3,000 blacklight-reactive, meter-long cardboard tubes will be distributed in Teen Plaza, where there will be massive blacklight cannons aimed at the crowd! Wear black, neon or both. The battle will continue until every tube is DESTROYED!

If have a Star Wars fanatic, like I do, you might also want to head to Queens on May 3rd for a free Lightsaber Combat Workshop at the public library in Kew Gardens, Queens.

Any kid who loves comics will enjoy this comic book convention just for kids. There will be workshops, panels, interactive activities and guest publishers and artists.

Also coming up for comic loving kids, free comic book day on May 2, when comic book stores give away free comic books just for stopping by.
