We all want to raise cultured, engaged children and luckily for us NJ parents, there are many local museums willing to lend a hand. This spring several museums have new exhibits that include intricately crafted fine art or options for your young scientist. The observations and conversations that can strike up on a museum stroll are a welcome breather from hectic daily life, so pick a rainy day and head to one of these wonderful spots to walk a gallery or discover the beauty of the molecule. 

The northernmost county of the Jersey Shore, Monmouth County is home to more than 50 miles of beautiful ocean and bay beaches, sprawling parks, fantastic restaurants, unique coastal culture and much more! It is the perfect place for New Jersey kids and families to have fun -  year-round! Here are some of our top picks to get you started with exploring this great County.

Now that the holiday season is officially in full swing, we’re sure that your list of “must attend” holiday events is building exponentially and we're about to make it burst at the seams. With its rich history, many of New Jersey's local museums, homes, venues and towns are celebrating the holidays in the spirit of yesteryear. Whether you are a history buff or a holiday fiend, we’re sure you will find many ways to go back in time to experience the Historic Holidays here in the Garden State.

Our friends over at NYC Mommy Poppins have a fantastic monthly feature where a different NYC neighborhood is highlighted each month. Here on this side of the Hudson we wanted to get in on the action too, Jersey-style, of course. So starting this month, Mommy Poppins New Jersey will be running our own monthly version entitled “The Best of New Jersey for Kids and Families”, which will be divided up by county. First up, Morris County, where I have spent the last 15 years (nine as a mom) exploring and enjoying all that this great area has to offer. So much good stuff here that it was hard to narrow it down to only the Top 25 of Morris County.
