The Best Books for NJ Kids of Every Age

Things to do with kids: The Best Books for NJ Kids of Every Age

And they'll shriek squeaks and squeals, racing 'round on their wheels.
They'll dance with jingtinglers tied onto their heels.

They'll blow their floofloovers. They'll bang their tartookas.
They'll blow their whohoopers. They'll bang their gardookas.
And then they'll make ear-splitting noises galooks
On their great big electro whocarnio flooks!

Things to do with kids: Got Books? Shop Local at NJ's Best Independent Bookstores.

"So please, oh PLEASE, we beg, we pray, Go throw your TV set away, And in its place you can install, A lovely bookshelf on the wall."— Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Well, maybe don't throw away your TV, but do turn it off every now and then, and all the other screens too. New Jersey has many wonderful independent bookstores, run by dedicated bibliophiles, that offer children's programs, and books galore for mom, dad, the tween, the toddler and the tot. Stop in, browse, and walk out with a charming bag stuffed with countless adventures. There is nothing like a good book.
