Summer Concerts for Tweens in NJ

The music scene for teens is huge this summer in New Jersey! Disney Channel alums such as Demi Lovato and Ross Lynch are breaking away from their cable television shows and heading out on tour. It’s a tough call for parents as to when their tweens are the right age for their first concert; however, many of these upcoming shows feature bands with a more “wholesome” act. It helps that they are widely popular with younger fans as well! Enjoy!

Andy Grammer

June 3 @ Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson NJ.

Grammer has been named one of Billboard’s 2011 Artists to Watch. Songs like “Keep Your Head Up” and “Fine By Me” are lighting up the charts. Grammer’s music is upbeat pop with lyrics that deliver a positive message. 

Demi Lovato

June 22 @ PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel NJ

Demi Lovato is a singer-songwriter, musician, and actress. Her acting roles include Barney & Friends, the Camp Rock movies, and the Disney sitcom Sonny with a Chance. Lovato released her debut album in 2008 and is currently working on her fourth album. She will join the television show X Factor as a judge this fall.

Enrique Iglesias 

July 21 and 22 @ Prudential Center, Newark NJ

Enrique Iglesias is a Spanish singer and songwriter who is the son of the famous Spanish singer Julio Iglesias. Enrique sings in both Spanish and English and is very popular in both markets. He is touring solo this summer as well as with Jennifer Lopez.

 R5 Featuring Ross Lynch from Disney Channel’s Austin and Ally

July 29 @ Quick Check’s Festival of Ballooning, Readington NJ

Ross Lynch is best known for portraying Austin Moon on the Disney Channel television series Austin & Ally. This summer he will be performing with his band R5, which is made up of his three elder siblings and their friend Ellington Ratliff. Ross’ older brother has a minor recurring role on the Fox series Glee.

Big Time Rush and Cody Simpson

August 18 @ PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel NJ

Big Time Rush began as a television series on Nickelodeon about the Hollywood misadventures of four hockey players from Minnesota after they are selected to form a boy band. The series premiered in 2009 and has been renewed for a third season. The band will tour this summer to promote their new season. Cody Simpson is a 15 year old Australian singer currently promoting his new EP.

Kelly Clarkson

August 26 @ PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel NJ 

Kelly Clarkson rose to stardom after winning the inaugural season of American Idol. Since then, Clarkson has had a successful singing career, earning multiple platinum and gold albums and 2 Grammy awards.

August 28 @ Prudential Center, Newark NJ

top ten American Idol finalists will tour the country this summer. $1 per ticket sold will benefit The Heart Foundation, a charity dedicated to eradicating heart disease.
