Things to do with kids: Laser Tag and Paintball in New Jersey

Whether you’re ultra competitive or just looking to spend a day with the family, New Jersey is home to an array of paintball and laser tag facilities. You and your NJ kids can run through rough terrain racing for the flag while being pegged with paint pellets, or take the kinder, gentler route of being "tagged" with a infrared light--however you slice it, here are some of the best paintball and laser tag venues in our play-happy state.

Part hide-and-seek, part chess game, Paintball is a sport of strategy, skill and wit. Great for birthday parties, school trips or family outings, paintball facilities are located across the state. Equipment rentals are available at most facilities, but make sure to check for age limits and reservation requirements.

NJ Paintball Club (West Milford, NJ) Open seven days a week from April 1 to December 15 from 8:00am to 5:00pm, players can choose from full or half day sessions and equipment packages at this outdoor facility. Reservations are required for the NJ Paintball Club; no children under 10 years old. Prices start at $41 for the basic morning package. Please call (973) 838-7493 for reservations and questions.

All Star Paintball Arena (Spotswood, NJ) This indoor paintball facility features more than 13,500 square feet of playing space.  Private parties, of more than eight, can be scheduled for any time/any day. Weekday play requires reservation, walk-ons welcome on Saturdays and Sunday. Currently open Wednesday to Friday 11am to 6pm; Saturday and Sundays 9am to 4pm. Please call (732) 928-2810 for additional details. Children must be at least 10 years old to play.
