The Peanut Prince: A Visit With George Washington Carver

February 27, 2010 3:00 PM EST

How many different things can be made with a peanut? George Washington Carver found over 300 ways to use peanuts, including laundry soap and “peanut orange punch.” Carver was a former slave that spent his life doing research on plants. He was world famous and beloved; presidents consulted him, and Thomas Edison offered him the equivalent of a million dollars a year to work for him (and Carver said no!). Thanks to Urban Stages, here's a rare chance to "meet" him and to hear his story! For ages 8 and up.
