Hot Dog! Disney Junior Takes Its Dance Party on Tour

11/27/17 - By Elaine Paoloni Quilici

Do you find yourself doing the "Hot Dog Dance" while making dinner? Do you sometimes sway to the sound of Doc McStuffins singing “Time for Your Check Up?” Then you—and presumably your kids—will be excited to hear that Disney Junior is launching a national dance party tour featuring characters and music from many of their most-loved shows.

Kicking off in March, the Disney Junior Dance Party On Tour will be an interactive concert with singing, dancing, and even games. You’ll hear songs from Mickey and the Roadster Racers, Sofia the First, Elena of Avalor, Doc McStuffins, The Lion Guard, Vampirina, and Puppy Dog Pals. It’s the first time all of these characters will appear together in one live show.

It will tour several Mommy Poppins regions, including New Jersey, Texas, and Los Angeles.

Dee and Jay and the DJ Dance squad will host the 60-minute extravaganza, which promises to be an immersive concert experience rather than just a typical theatrical show for kids. If you’ve been to Disneyland, it will be similar to the Disney Junior Dance Party attraction.

Mickey and Minnie will headline a host of characters who will take the stage to perform. You’ll hear favorites like “Hot Dog Dance” from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, “Time For Your Check Up” from Doc McStuffins, “Zuka Zama” from The Lion Guard, and “Happy Helpers” from Mickey and the Roadster Racers. There will also be new songs and some fun mashups.

There will also be an interactive experience previewing Muppet Babies, a CGI-animated series set to launch on Disney Junior in early 2018. Parents may remember the show, which ran on CBS from 1984 to 1991. It will again feature Baby Kermit, Baby Piggy, Baby Fozzie, Baby Gonzo, and Baby Animal.

Die-hard Disney fans should check out the tour’s three VIP packages: the buffet breakfast includes a character meet-and-greet with Mickey Mouse, Sofia the First, and Doc McStuffins before the show; the afternoon tea party allows kids to play games, work on crafts, have a snack, and mingle with Elena of Avalor, Sofia the First, and Minnie Mouse before the show; and the after-party features a meet-and-greet with Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, and Doc McStuffins, as well as snacks, games, and crafts. All packages include premium seating for the show and a gift to take home.

If the kids want more merchandise, a full range of Disney Junior items will be available for purchase throughout the show.
