Art Without Walls: Zines for Justice (Felipe de Neve Library)
Art can transcend barriers of all kinds. Participants make a mini zine with artist Chynna Monforte in support of families separated at the border using powerful collage techniques inspired by artist Lari Pittman.
About the Program:
Art can transcend barriers of all kinds. Participants create art inspired by social justice issues, children’s literature, and Hammer exhibitions.
ART WITHOUT WALLS is copresented by the Felipe de Neve Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library and the Hammer. The same event is held on Saturday at the library and Sunday at the museum. The same art-making activities occur at each site. The program at the Hammer Museum includes storytelling in the galleries. The program at the library is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Recommended for children ages 5 and up and grownups.
