Without a doubt, March is coming in like a lion. Let’s hope it goes out like a lamb! Get through the lion days of March with this week’s warm activities, including meeting baseball great Cal Ripken Jr. at Barnes and Noble and topping off a busy week at iPlay After Dark’s festivities. Enjoy free fun at Bergen County Zoo’s Playtime, Thompson Park’s Pottery Open House and Slimy Seuss Art at the Hazlet Library. Playtime at Bergen County Zoo (Paramus)
Enjoy a fun and free morning full of play at the Bergen County Zoo. Every Monday, babies and toddlers are invited to the zoo’s education center to play with animal toys and meet one of the zoo’s furry friends. FREE

Cal Ripken Jr. at Barnes and Noble (Princeton)
Meet baseball legend Cal Ripken Jr. for a special story time, based on the release of his new children’s book Out at Home. FREE

Get slimed at the Hazlet Library by creating a slimy home for paper pets, based on a Dr. Seuss classic. Registration is required.

Try your hand at pottery at Thompson Park Creative Art Center’s pottery studio. Visitors 7 and older can give the pottery wheel a spin and learn more about building techniques. Dress for a mess. FREE

Big Apple Circus (Bridgewater)
The circus is coming to town! Come to the TD Bank Ballpark to experience this year’s spectacular, Metamorphosis, with the Flying Trapeze, the Rolla-Bolla, the Contortionists and much more. The show is in Bridgewater through March 15th.

Have fun learning math at the Monmouth Museum’s weekly program for 4-6 year olds. The program features interactive projects about problem solving, led by a museum docent. Free with admission.
