Weekday Event Picks for NJ Kids: Fit4Kids, Read & Pick, Carnival, June 15-19

The countdown is on for summer break! Before all of our brains go on a collective vacation, take advantage of the many fun and educational events happening this week. Immerse yourself in cherry picking at Terhune Orchards' Read & Pick Program and be a nature lover at Tenafly Nature Center’s Afternoon Explorers. Check out free library programs like a Fit4Kids Healthy Sports Show. And keep those creative juices flowing at an After-School Art Class and a Messy Artist’s Drop In & Play session. Monday, June 15

Central NJ:
St. Gregory the Great Family Carnival (Hamilton Square)
You know it’s almost summer when the week kicks off with a carnival. Enjoy rides, games and food at this fun festival, which runs through Saturday. Admission is FREE.

Northern NJ:
Afternoon Explorers (Tenafly)
Bring your 4-7 year olds to the Tenafly Nature Center to explore plants and animals on a nature hike. This is a drop-off program, and pre-registration is required.

Read & Pick Program (Princeton)
Cherries are the fruit of the week at Terhune Orchards’ story time and farm activity. Children will have the opportunity to pick their own cherries during the event. Pre-registration is required.

Northern NJ:
After-School Art Class (Berkeley Heights)
Get creative after school at Kayla’s Creative Art Studio where children ages 6+ are welcome to take part in painting and drawing projects. Art supplies are provided, and kids may bring a snack.

The ginormous annual festival, held in the Meadowlands Fairgrounds, is jam-packed with activities, including the largest Kiddieland in the state, food, animals, acrobats, shows and much, much more. Fair runs through July 5th.

Jersey Shore:
Space Explorers Planetarium Show (Lincroft)
Come see the stars at this Monmouth Museum planetarium event. Kids will be in awe of the night sky and constellations during this 30 minute program.
