Weekday Event Picks for NJ Kids: Autumn Crafts, Reptiles, Tractors, September 21-25

Get the creative juices flowing this week at artsy, crafty fall events throughout New Jersey. Kids have the opportunity to create garden crafts at Story Time: Up in the Garden, Down in the Dirt, instruments at Tinkering with Sound and apple creations at both Apple & Potato Printing and Fall Preschool Nature Classes. Story Time: Up in the Garden, Down in the Dirt (Trenton)
Head over the the New Jersey State Museum for its monthly story time and craft. This week’s theme is garden life, and participants will create a garden craft to take home. FREE

Jersey Shore:
Tween Program: Tinkering with Sound (Howell)
Here’s a creative after-school activity. 'Tweens 9-11 are invited to the Howell Public Library to make their own percussion instrument using everyday materials. FREE

Read & Pick: Tractors (Princeton)
Tractors are the theme of this week’s farm-fun program at Terhune Orchards. Children will take part in theme-related stories and farm activities. Pre-registration is requested.

Kids Only Paint Party (Fanwood)
Planning a date night? Drop off kids 6 and up at Be Craftful for a great night of painting and fun. Admission includes smocks, a take-home canvas, plus pizza and juice. Event is drop-off, and pre-registration is required.
