November Fairs and Festivals for NJ Families

Before the madness of the holiday season sets in, relax and enjoy autumn at these wonderful fairs and festivals taking place throughout NJ this month. Take a train ride, discover exciting new comic books, and explore rocks and minerals of all shapes and sizes. We’ve rounded up eight fabulous finds to keep you busy all November long. BrickFair LEGO Fan Festival (Somerset)
October 31 & November 1, 2015
Check out over 58,000 square feet of amazing models and displays featuring LEGO bricks of all shapes and sizes. While the exhibits are primarily for viewing only, there are some interactive models to explore, as well as a “Stay & Play” area where kids can make their own LEGO creations. Vendors will be on hand selling LEGO shirts, models, toys and more.

New Providence Fall Festival (New Providence)
November 1, 2015
Enjoy live entertainment, delicious food and great shopping from local vendors at New Providence's annual festival. A special section just for the kiddos features rides, face painting, a petting zoo and other fun games. FREE

St. Anthony’s International Festival (Bergenfield)
November 5-7, 2015
Prepare to feast at this fabulous festival offering authentic Greek, Arabic, Russian and Slovic treats. Once you’ve stuffed your face, spend the day shopping, enjoying live entertainment and checking out kids’ activities such as face painting and balloon animals. Plenty of fun for the whole family! Rock, Gem & Mineral Show (Mountainside)
November 7 & 8, 2015
Learn all about minerals, rocks, gems and fossils from around the world at this 2-day show perfect for budding geologists. Children’s activities include a touch table, fossil rubbings and puzzles. Stay for the afternoon and enjoy all that Trailside Nature Center has to offer—animal exhibits, a life-sized wigwam, a children’s discovery room and more. FREE

Train Celebration (Camden)
November 14 & 15, 2015
Visit the beautiful Camden Children’s Garden for this wonderful event dedicated to trains. Kids can create train-themed crafts, play fun games and hear railroad stories. Buddy from the hit PBS show “Dinosaur Train” will be there for a special Meet & Greet with his fans.

Lenape Family Day (Morristown)
November 14, 2015
Discover NJ’s past by learning about the life and culture of the Lenape Indians at The Morris Museum’s annual festival. View authentic and recreated objects including masks, tools and musical instruments. Families can enjoy activities such as corn weaving, a self-guided scavenger hunt and interactive storytelling.

Jersey Shore Comic Book Show (Toms River)
November 15, 2015
Bring the whole family to this fun event featuring comic books, toys, collectible items and non-sport cards. There will be special appearances from costumed groups such as Star Wars, Ghostbusters and Star Trek. Comic artists and writers will be on hand to greet fans and sign autographs.

SWEA Swedish Christmas Fair (Montclair)
November 22, 2015
This annual Christmas fair offers handmade crafts, delicious Swedish food and beautiful seasonal gifts and decorations. Sample homemade treats such as sandwiches, pastries and drinks in the Swedish café. Don’t miss the Lucia pageant, a delightful holiday tradition, taking place at 11am and 2pm.
