Feel that chill in the air? November is here in full force, and there are plenty of activities to keep busy on this post-Halloween, pre-holiday weekend. Get a sneak preview of the holiday season with Santa's Arrival at the Quakerbridge Mall. And don’t forget your shopping list when you stop by the Lambert Castle Holiday Boutique. Speaking of castles, catch a performance of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at The Pax Amicus Castle Theatre. Treat the little princesses in your life to a day of beauty and fun at the Day Out for a Queen and Her Princess. And the whole family will want to load up on delicious food and fun at St. Anthony’s Orthodox Church International Festival. St. Anthony’s Orthodox Church International Festival (Bergenfield, NJ)
You won’t go hungry at this busy festival. Fill up on tasty dishes made by Greek, Arabic, Russian and Slovic parishioners. Flea market shopping, entertainment and kids’ activities are all part of the festivities.

Train Festival (Camden, NJ)
If your kids enjoy Thomas and Chuggington, they’ll love this train-themed event at the Camden Children’s Garden. Browse train vendors, create train crafts and ride the Garden’s train. Saturday’s events include a visit from the characters of TV’s “Dinosaur Train.”

25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Budd Lake, NJ)
Take a trip back to middle school at this musical, improvisational play about a spelling bee. The show is held at the Pax Amicus Castle Theatre.

Lambert Castle Holiday Boutique (Paterson, NJ)
It’s not too early to start holiday shopping. Bring along your holiday list and browse a variety of holiday gifts, jewelry, decoration, crafts and gourmet food.

Saturday, November 8th

A Day Out for a Queen and Her Princess (Montclair, NJ)
Have a royal good time at this girl-bonding event. Princesses and the females in their lives are treated to makeovers, shopping, soap-making and giveaways.

Santa’s Arrival at Quaker Bridge Mall (Lawrence Township, NJ)
Santa’s here! Don’t miss Santa’s big welcome with a Frozen party, featuring Anna , Elsa and Olaf. Plus, enjoy crafts, face painting, balloons and Santa photos.

Family Fun Day (Madison, NJ)
Bring the family for a day of fun at the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts. Take part in a craft, and visit the museum’s kid-friendly exhibits.

Passport to Art (New Brunswick, NJ)
Get creative at Rutger’s Zimmerli Art Museum. Families are invited to participate in Adventures in Light and Color, a workshop run by trained educators and artists.

The Dog Show: The Art of Our Canine Companions (Morristown, NJ)
Spend a dog day afternoon at this art exhibit all about pups. Explore works of art from the 19th century through the present with focus on canine companions.
