Make the most of the last weekend in March with a great family-friendly activity, either indoors or out. If you’re looking for a dose of early spring air, check out the Photo Scavenger Hunt at the Haggerty Education Center, take a Bike Right class at Essex County Environmental Center or get up close and personal with amphibians at the Chorus of Frogs walk at Pyramid Mountain. And if the air is still a tad too chilly, we’ve got you covered! Head to Liberty Science Center and let the kids burn off energy at the awesome Bob the Builder exhibit, get tickets to see the fun and zany play If You Give a Moose a Muffin at the Wheaton Arts & Cultural Center or head to Princeton University Art Museum for their latest Art for Families program. Bob the Builder – Project: Build It! (Jersey City, NJ)
Only a few more weekends left to check out this awesome exhibit at Liberty Science Center – a Mommy Poppins favorite! Children will join Bob the Builder and friends to make everything better in Sunflower Valley as they build, fix, plant and improve using team efforts. They’ll climb on large construction machines, plant flowers in Wendy’s garden and even run a “water pump.” Can We Build It? Yes, We Can!

Photo Scavenger Hunt (Morristown, NJ)
Looking for something to do outside during these last few winter weekends? Grab a camera or phone and stop by the Haggerty Education Center for a nature photo scavenger hunt. Families can pick up a list, head outside and shoot away. Take a picture of every item on the list, return to the Education Center and pick up your prize! March’s theme is Spring has Sprung.

Saturday, March 29th

Bike Right – Learn to Ride (Roseland, NJ)
Make learning to ride a fun, positive experience with a Bike Right class at Essex County Environmental Center. Bike Right uses a "balance first" method where parents help get their kids rolling while the child does most of the work. Participants learn the basics of balancing, starting, stopping and steering a bike, as well as proper helmet fit and adjustment.

Opening Day Celebration (Camden, NJ)
Help the wonderful Camden Children’s Garden kick off their 15th season!  Head on over for a fun afternoon as they open new exhibits and debut new activity station carts. Visit with mascot friends and sip tea in the Alice in Wonderland Garden with the Mad Hatter.

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt (Newark, NJ)
The beloved book springs to life onstage as a father and his four brave children become intrepid adventurers on a quest to track down the bear. Grab your camping gear and set out into the woods for this fun-filled family adventure at NJPAC - a musical adaptation of the award-winning children's book from author Michael Rosen and illustrator Helen Oxenbury.

If You Give a Moose a Muffin (Millville, NJ)
In this hilarious sequel to If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, the young host is again run ragged by a surprise guest in this zany play for grade-schoolers at the Wheaton Arts & Cultural Center. Kids will delight in the comic complications that follow when the main character entertains a gregarious moose.

Science-sational Day (Randolph, NJ)
Morris County youth in grades K-6 are invited to explore new ideas, put their designs to the test and discover a new love for science. Mad Science will kick the day off with a wiz-bang show titled "Spin, Pop, Boom!" Afterwards, participants will explore three hands-on science workshops led by volunteers. Workshop topics include astronomy, biology, engineering, physics and so much more!

Art for Families (Princeton, NJ)
The Princeton University Art Museum continues their Saturday morning Art for Families Series with another educational and fun program. Children will hear lively stories from different cultures around the world before crafting a puppet to use in a play theater.

The Little School Educational Foundation Breakfast (Mahwah, NJ)
There will be princesses, superheroes, and more, all eating some yummy breakfast with your kids--all for a good cause.

Sunday, March 30th

Chorus of Frogs Walk (Montville, NJ)
Drop by the nature center at Pyramid Mountain with your little amphibian lover this Sunday. Learn all about frogs and the noises they make in the spring as you hike the beautiful trails. Bring binoculars to see the toads up close or borrow a pair from the center.
