We pulled together six great drop-in art options in Brooklyn for budding Picassos eager to go beyond finger paints and crayons at home. These artsy spots provide all kinds of materials and guide tots as they explore art and have fun creating their own masterpieces.

Explore shapes, colors, textures and nature in this 45-minute drop-in class at toy and baby store, Play Kids on the south side of Prospect Park. Art class begins with circle time and includes singing and storytime (and art-making, of course).

Private Picassos Art Studio — Park Slope

Roll up your sleeves and get creative with your toddler at this drop-in art studio where little ones have their own table, and older kids gather at a bigger communal table to work on age-appropriate arts and crafts. No need to be a member, just show up, choose a project with your little one and get going. Projects for the little kids are limited to a few select options, but older kids can pick from 12 projects with staff members on hand to assist. Art Studio also hosts birthday parties and a selection of classes for kids and adults.

Totally Tots Open Art Studio — Crown Heights

This new drop-in art class, part of Brooklyn Children's Museum's Totally Tots section for kids ages 0-5, features a new art project each week. Toddlers get the opportunity to learn about colors, letters and numbers and maybe even pick up a few social skills along the way.
