Join the Schaumburg Park District for the final release of the year. The party includes a butterfly boutique, master gardeners table and kid's activities.

Butterfly release is at 2:15 pm. This will be the final group of more than 1500 monarch butterflies that have been released this year for their trip to Mexico. The butterflies are tagged before release and are part of a study from universities collaborating with monarchwatch.org. Information will be available for families interested in learning to raise their own monarchs. 

The butterfly boutique includes handmade items from butterfly volunteers. At the master gardener table families can get free milkweed seeds and information about butterfly gardens. Crafts, coloring, bubbles and treats are available for the kids. 

 

This event will run rain or shine.
