Nothing beats jumping into cold water when it's summertime in Atlanta. We have tons of public swimming pools, in addition to Swimming Lakes and Beaches Near Atlanta that are fun for families. Many of these local swimming pools have diving boards, water slides and splash areas for little ones, making them more engaging than your typical swim/tennis neighborhood pool. And did you know that you can hang out at certain Atlanta hotel pools without staying overnight? It's true. Several Atlanta hotels offer day passes for folks just looking to enjoy the posh amenities. Several Atlanta hotels offer day passes to their facilities or even day use rooms (including access to the hotel pool) so families can enjoy a daycation.

Many of the public swimming pools near Atlanta listed here have set times for open swim sessions, so be sure to check the schedule and pool rules before you go. Fun Public Swimming Pools Near Atlanta 

Piedmont Park Aquatic Center - Midtown 

This staple in Piedmont Park has been a favorite since the original bathhouse was built in 1911. Now families enjoy a large pool with beach entry from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Visitors pay $5 per person for access to the swimming pool or show up 3-5pm each weekday in the summer for free swim. The pool is open weekdays 10am-5pm and weekends 12-5pm. 

Wills Park Pool - Alpharetta 

Kids love the Wills Park Pool with its two diving boards (including a high dive), twisty water slide, shallow play area with interactive features and a splash pad. Alpharetta residents pay $5 and non-residents pay $8 per person. Mondays are open to residents only. The Wills Park Pool is open from Memorial Day until Fulton County schools begin classes (August 8 for 2022); after that, the pool is open weekends only through Labor Day. Hours vary each day. 

Cherokee County Aquatic Center - Canton 

Families have a blast at this public aquatic center, which is more like a mini waterpark called the Oasis Outdoor Pool. For $7 per child and $9 per adult, visitors can ride on two water slides, swim in the lazy river, and play in a water playground. Hours vary each day and the facility sometimes closes for special events so check their website before heading out. 

Seven Springs Water Park - Powder Springs 

The Seven Springs Water Park in Powder Springs boasts a public outdoor swimming pool with zero-depth entry and a water park with two slides, a lazy river, and a splash pad. The facility is open daily from Memorial Day through August 1. Cobb County residents pay $4 per child and $6 per adult (non-residents pay slightly higher). Visitors choose from two sessions: 12-3pm or 4-7pm. 

Tolleson Park Pool - Smyrna 

The Tolleson Park Pool has two diving boards and a spray ground. Prices are $7 per adult and $5 per kid. The pool is open weekdays, 1-6pm, and weekends, 11am-6pm. Once school starts in Cobb County (first week of August), the swimming pool opens only on weekends.

Roswell Area Park Pool - Roswell 

This Olympic-sized swimming pool, located in Roswell's premier park, has two diving boards, a children's wading area, and a mushroom waterfall. Roswell residents pay $3 for admission while non-residents pay $5.  The swimming pool hours vary each day and is closed on Thursdays. 

Grant Park Pool - Atlanta 

The Grant Park swimming pool is large, near Zoo Atlanta, and best of all, FREE! Families cool off in this Atlanta public pool 12:30-8:00pm, Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. The pool shifts to evening and weekend hours when school starts in August. 

Chastain Park Athletic Club Pool - Buckhead 

You don't have to be a member of the Chastain Park Athletic Club to use its pool. Guests pay $5 per person to cool off in the large outdoor swimming pool or the indoor section. The facility even offers free swim time from 11am-1pm. Check the website for hours because they change daily and certain times are just for members. For 2022, the pool is open from May 16-September 11. 

Cumming Aquatic Center - Cumming 

Kids of all ages splash and play at the Cumming Aquatic Center's outdoor leisure pool. The venue has a water slide, lazy river, and water playground. Visitors pay $6 per child and $7 per adult. The outdoor leisure pool opens in early May and closes after Labor Day. Check the website for hours as the schedule varies during school times. 

Garden Hills Pool - Buckhead 

Families enjoy this large swimming pool in Buckhead for just $5 per person. Garden Hills offers a long season, too —May through September. The facility blocks off certain times for members only so be sure to check the public open hours on the pool's website before going. 

Candler Park Pool -  Little Five Points 

This intown swimming pool is a great option for cooling off in the summer, especially because it offers FREE admission. The pool, located in Candler Park, is open daily during the summer from 12:30-7pm. 

Kelley Cofer Pool - Tucker 

This large pool in Tucker is a nice place to beat the heat during the summer. Bonus? It has a crazy fun diving board! Children ages 3-11 are $3 and those ages 12 and over are $5. Kelley Cofer pool is open from Monday and Wednesday-Saturday, 12-8pm, and Sunday, 1-7pm (closed Tuesdays). Hours and open days shift after August 7. 

Best Atlanta Hotels Swimming Pools with Day Passes

W Atlanta Downtown - Downtown 

At the W Atlanta-Downtown, located near Centennial Olympic Park, families can hang out at the rooftop pool, listen to live music Fridays and Saturdays, and purchase food from the bar (open on weekends). Pool hours are 12pm-8pm. Day passes start at $40 per adult and $25 per child. Book through Resort Pass

Grand Hyatt Atlanta - Buckhead 

Visitors to the Grand Hyatt Atlanta can purchase a day use room starting at $99 for five hours and enjoy the gorgeous outdoor pool. Grand Hyatt Atlanta's swimming pool is heated (connects to the Japanese Zen garden and waterfall), so can be a year-round event. Book through Day Use

Crowne Plaza - Midtown 

Families cool off and enjoy skyline views at this rooftop pool in midtown. Day rooms start at $79, staying 9am-5pm. Book through Day Use.

Hyatt Regency Atlanta - Downtown 

Book a "Refresh Room" for $119 from 10am-4pm and enjoy the Hyatt Regency Atlanta's outdoor swimming pool, plus walk to downtown attractions like the Children's Museum of Atlanta and the World of Coca-Cola. Reserve through Day Use.
